Liam Daish is keen to address Ebbsfleet's defensive frailties that have blighted their season.

Fleet host fellow strugglers Alfreton at Stonebridge Road on Saturday.

And Daish (pictured) said: "People look at the centre-halves but we need to defend better as a team from front to back.

"We have to put more pressure on the ball, get closer to people, stay switched on, cut out silly errors and smell danger earlier.

"We could sit back, be negative and not move at all but that’s doesn’t necessarily get results. It only takes a bit of brilliance, bad luck or a mistake by the referee or linesman and you’ve lost the game.

"You come off with nothing and wishing you’d given it more of a go. It’s all about getting the balance right.

"Nobody’s dominated us for 90 minutes. It’s more that we’ve conceded three or four times in 15-minute windows and given ourselves a mountain to climb."
