Ebbsfleet found third-place Kettering too strong in Blue Square Premier and suffered a 3-0 defeat.

Fleet, who included assistant manager Paul McCarthy in their side for the first time since the FA Trophy win in May 2008, looked solid early on but their final ball let them down.

The visitors fell behind when Moses Ashikodi struck the ball into the top left corner of the goal from close range after 33 minutes.

Ricky Shakes had a chance to equalise for Fleet after 51 minutes, but his shot was well-saved by Kettering keeper Lee Harper.

Francis Green settled the game when he placed the ball into the bottom right corner of the goal after 76 minutes.

A bad day for the Fleet was completed when defender Leon Crooks put through his own net after 86 minutes for Kettering’s third goal.
