Dale Road in Southfleet, Gravesend to be closed for up to two days after water pipe bursts

A road will remain closed for two days while a burst water pipe is fixed.

Repairs are being made to Dale Road, Southfleet, after water was seen gushing out yesterday morning.

The street was flooded and a large hole opened in the ground.

The road has been closed while Thames Water carry out repairs which are expected to last for the next two days.

A spokesman for the water company said: "We received reports of a leak on Dale Road in Southfleet, yesterday morning.

"We are sorry to residents and motorists for the inconvenience whilst repair works are ongoing.

"Finding and fixing leaks is a top priority, with over 1,300 repairs made each week – that’s one leak every 7.5 minutes.”
