Thick plumes of smoke seen in Northfleet after Caravan fire in Springhead Road

Fire crews were needed to tackle a caravan blaze.

Thick plumes of black smoke could be seen billowing from afar across Northfleet this morning.

Two fire engines attended the incident in Springhead Road at around 8.20am.

Pictures show flames and black smoke coming from the area and witnesses said it could be seen from Waterdales.

Crews used a hose reel jet to extinguish the flames and the fire service left the scene shortly before 9am.

No casualties have been reported.

The cause of the fire has not been confirmed.
