A manipulative husband who brutally murdered his wife after he lost control as head of the family has been jailed for life.

Aminur Bachchu had previously moved out of the family home but his wife Lipi Begum eventually gave in to his pleas to be allowed to return.

Bachchu, who admitted murder, was ordered to serve a minimum term of 14 years behind bars before being considered for parole.

Judge Philip Statman said the murder of Mrs Bachchu, who worked at Marks & Spencer in Gravesend town centre, was rightly described as vicious.
