It comes after an announcement that Gravesend’s annual free firework display will not be taking place this year after Gravesham council was unable to secure sponsorship for the event after its sponsorship agreement with Swale Heating ended.

The Three Daws Riverside Inn in Town Pier is holding an event, but details are yet to be confirmed.

Another display is being put on by the Clarendon Royal Community, in Royal Pier Road.

The historic hotel became a community hub this year after Age UK Medway signed a lease for the building to expand its services into the borough.

Tickets are £10 for adults and free for children. Under 16s need to be accompanied by an adult.

Food, drinks and a disco will start from 6pm and will be followed by the display.
