Firefighters tackle blaze in Swanscombe

An area of grassland was destroyed in a blaze last night.

Firefighters, using three engines and an all terrain vehicle, were called to Manor Way, Swanscombe, just before 7pm.

It affected an area of grass and heathland of 200 metres by 50 metres and took 15 firefighters about 45 minutes to battle it.

The cause is not known.
