Robert Pocock Wetherspoons in Windmill Street, Gravesend closed after fire

A Wetherspoons pub in Gravesend was closed after a small fire, possibly caused by a cigarette butt.

The fire in the Robert Pocock, Windmill Street, Gravesend, on Sunday afternoon led to it being evacuated.

Pub manager, Rob Harris said all of the customers and staff were safe.

It is believed, but not confirmed, that a cigarette butt went into a small hole in the fascia of the building and this smouldered and caught fire.

The pub re-opened on Monday as normal once some emergency repairs had been done.
