Kent Police appeal to find electric scooter rider after ‘hit and run’ in Windmill Street, Gravesend

A woman was left with a head injury after being hit by an electric scooter.

Police were called at 2.34pm on Saturday (November 18), to a collision involving a person riding an electric scooter and a pedestrian in Windmill Street, Gravesend.

Officers and paramedics attended but the person on the scooter had already left before they arrived.

A woman was treated for a minor head injury and inquiries are underway to identify and locate the e-scooter rider who is described as wearing a long red padded jacket with a fur hood.

A witness told KentOnline: “Members of the public chased him to detain him, but unfortunately he got away going up Windmill Street, past the Invicta Bar direction.”

She added: “The lady had a cut to her head and was lying down with a blanket on her before emergency services attended.”

Drivers with dashcam and residents or businesses with private CCTV, are also asked to check for relevant footage.
