Goalkeeper Preston Edwards marked his 100th appearance for Ebbsfleet by keeping his first clean sheet of the season in a goalless draw against Alfreton on Saturday.

Fleet fans also celebrated the return of popular midfielder Ashley Carew, who went straight into the side after signing from Carshalton.

It was Fleet's third successive Blue Square Bet Premier draw at Stonebridge Road although they had chances to take all three points.

Alfreton were a threat but the hosts went closest to breaking the deadlock 20 minutes from time when Joe Howe saw his effort from 25 yards hit the bar.

Fleet - who stay second from bottom - were all over Alfreton in the closing stages but the visitors held out.
