Police patrol car overturns in Old Road East, Gravesend

Two police officers were taken to hospital after their patrol car ended up on its roof after a crash.

The incident happened near the Prince of Orange pub in Old Road East, Gravesend, as the officers were responding to an emergency in the early hours of Friday.

The car ended up impaled on what looked like a fence near traffic lights. The road was coned off as the vehicle was recovered.

A police spokesman said: "At 2.10am a police car which was responding to an emergency call was involved in a collision with another car in Old Road East, Gravesend.

"Two officers suffered minor injuries and went to a local hospital for medical attention."

Both have since been discharged.
