Car crash in Fawkham Road puts woman in hospital with suspected spinal injury

A woman in her 60s has been taken to hospital with suspected spinal injuries after a two car collision.

Firefighters were called to Fawkham Road in Longfield just after 2pm on Tuesday to rescue the casualty from the vehicle.

Hydraulic rescue equipment was used to remove the driver from the car.

The woman, who was conscious when paramedics arrived, was treated for chest and back pain at the scene before being taken to Princess Royal University Hospital in Orpington.

Two fire appliances were called to the scene and were there for about an hour.

Two medical cars and an ambulance were also in attendance.
