A SIX-year-old bravely called 999 when her mum had a panic attack in the car.

Shelley Towells from Istead Rise, Gravesend phoned the emergency services when her mum Julie Swift fainted.

Ms Swift had minutes earlier seen a road traffic incident but managed to pull the car over to the side of the road before passing out.

Shelley telephoned 999 where she was put through to ambulance call taker Karen Andrews.

Ms Andrews said: "She was able to tell me clearly what happened and gave me her auntie and gran's telephone numbers.

"She was also able to tell me the type of car she was in and some details about her surroundings."

The pair were found by paramedics on the A289 in Medway between Four Elms Hill and Sir Thomas Longley Way.
