Man in his 40's taken to hospital after attack in Peacock Street, Gravesend

A man has been taken to hospital after an attack in a busy street in Gravesend.

Officers were called to Peacock Street following reports a man in his 40s was assaulted by two men at around 8.50am.

The incident took place close to the junction with St Andrew’s Road and The Peacock pub and the man was later taken to hospital for treatment to a cut to their head.

A member of the public witnessed the assault taking place and intervened to assist the victim.

The incident happened on March 17, and officers have reviewed a number of lines of inquiry but are yet to hear from the person who assisted the victim.

An appeal has now been launched to trace the individual concerned.
