DETECTIVES with the British Transport Police are appealing for information following a sexual assault on a train.

A mother and her three-year-old daughter were travelling on a train heading towards Gravesend when a man boarded at Greenhithe, near Dartford. He started talking to the mother and child before he sexually assaulted the mother.

The man is described as Asian and aged in his early 20s. He was wearing a dark tee shirt and trousers. He was described as having bulging eyes.

The assault happened at about 10.30am on Saturday, September 10. The British Transport Police has now issued a CCTV image of a man they wish to talk to about the incident.

DC Malcolm McCulloch said: “I believe this man can help us with our enquiries and I would like anyone who can help identify him to contact us.”
