Six fire engines were called to the blaze alongside electrical safety engineer (UK Power Networks), gas safety engineer and the police.

The fire started just after 6pm.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service posted about the incident on their Twitter and have asked people to share the message with anyone in the affected area who does not have access to social media.

It is thought the fire could be at the former Anchor and Hope pub in Ash which shut in 2018.

The police have been contacted for comment.
