EAST Kent Crusaders' basketball play-off, due to be played at the Pent Valley Leisure Centre in Folkestone on Saturday night, has been cancelled.

Opponents Cardiff Clippers have been unable to raise enough players for the match.

Crusaders, champions of the English Basketball League Division 3 South East, will now play in the quarter-finals of the national Division 3 play-offs on Saturday, March 18, at the Folkestone centre, starting at 7pm.

They will play the winner of the game between Team Northumbria and Sheffield Sabres, who meet on Wednesday, March 15.

Crusaders' head coach Jesse Sazant said: "We are very disappointed that we have had to cancel the game with such short notice and hope the message reaches all of our supporters.

"Cardiff only notified us at 5 pm on Thursday that they would not be travelling to Kent due to a lack of player availability.

"We are very frustrated with the situation as we attempt to provide a high quality product that is not always matched by some of the other teams involved."
