Woman's hair cut off in unprovoked attack

AN 18-year-old woman was assaulted by a man who cut her hair when she stopped her car to retrieve some paperwork that had blown out of the window.

The assault took place at 9.30am on Sunday when the victim was driving in Cherry Garden Lane, Folkestone.

While she was bending to collect the paperwork a man appraoched her from behind, put one arm around her neck and with the other cut off some of her hair. He then ran off up the road.

He is described as white, aged around 30, 5ft 10in tall with short hair and an athletic build. He had a deep voice and was wearing a grey jumper.

Police are appealing for witnesses and Det Sgt Louise Ludwig said: "This was an unprovoked, isolated incident, and I would urge anyone with information to contact us."
