Woman injured in M20 crash with lorry near Folkestone

A woman had to be cut from her car after crashing with a lorry on the M20 near Folkestone.

Firefighters were called at 2.44pm to the incident between junction 12 and 11a on the Londonbound carriageway.

They cut a 66-year-old woman free after the car she was in was involved in a crash with a lorry.

She reportedly suffered back and shoulder injuries before being taken to hospital in Ashford.

Two crews were on the scene for around 25 minutes before the woman was taken into the care of paramedics.

A spokesman for South East Coast Ambulance said: "We despatched a single response vehicle and an ambulance crew.

"Fire crews also assisted with taking the patient out of the vehicle.

"One 66-year-old female patient was treated at the scene for injuries to back and shoulder and was transported to William Harvey Hospital for further assessment and treatment."
