Warning after stones are thrown from A20 bridge

POLICE are warning motorists using the A20 near Folkestone to beware after stones were thrown onto passing traffic from a bridge.

A 19-year-old woman was travelling from Dover to Folkestone at about 9.10pm on Friday when she noticed three youths on the A260 bridge throwing stones at her car. They caused a small crack in her windscreen.

PC Phil Harvey-Hendley said: “This lady was lucky to have escaped with just a chipped windscreen as it could have resulted in a serious collision, and possibly a fatality.”

“I would urge parents to ensure their children know the dangers and consequences of throwing objects onto the highway.

"The youths who did this could have been looking at the possibility of a murder or manslaughter charge.”
