Trucker freed on bail after fatal crash

A 57-year-old Polish lorry driver arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving after another trucker was killed in a collision on the A20 has been released on bail until June 28.

Kent Police say they still making further enquiries in to the tragedy which happened at Capel le Ferne, near Folkestone, last Wednesday night.

Police say a Belgian truck was involved in a collision with a Polish lorry close to a lay by on the London bound section shortly after 7.30pm. The driver of the Belgian lorry was pronounced dead at the scene. The London bound carriageway was closed until just after around 5am on Thursday.

Anyone who witnessed the collision or the events leading up to it is asked to contact the Serious Collision Investigation unit on 01622 798538.
