THREE 15-year-old boys have had their mobile phones seized by Kent Police after they were arrested for assault, commonly known as happy slapping.

Police investigating an allegation of assault against a young boy in Folkestone discovered a number of photographic images of assaults on the phones belonging to the youths.

The youths, from Folkestone,were arrested and questioned at Folkestone Police Station and have been formally cautioned for the alleged offence.

Youth crime reduction officer WPC Fran Fryer-Kelsey said: “Assaults of this nature are very serious.

"Let this be a warning to those responsible, that they can expect to be dealt with robustly by the police, and have their phones taken away and used as evidence.”
