Stabbing in Sidney Street, Folkestone, leads to arrest

A man has been arrested following a stabbing in Folkestone.

It is reported a man travelling in a white Volkswagen Polo got out of his vehicle and assaulted the victim, who was walking along Sidney Street.

He suffered two slash wounds to his back which were inflicted by a knife.

It happened at around 7pm last Sunday, but police only released the details today.

Officers arrested a 26-year-old man from Tooting on suspicion of assault, who has since been released pending further enquiries.

It is believed a number of people witnessed the assault and officers are keen to hear from anyone that is yet to speak with them.
