Man charged after reported assault in Folkestone

A man has been charged after allegedly assaulting another man before spitting at a police officer.

Police officers were called to the private address off Wood Avenue at about 12.30pm on Thursday.

Woolnough was arrested and is alleged to have spat at a police officer on three separate occasions.

Officers reportedly found a retractable knife in his possession.

The 35-year-old, of no fixed address, has been charged with assault, making threats to kill, possessing a knife in a public place and assaulting an emergency services worker.

He appeared at Medway Magistrates’ Court yesterday and was remanded in custody.

He will next appear at Canterbury Crown Court on Monday, November 2.
