Police arrest man, 28, from Dover, following alleged road rage attack in Cherry Garden Avenue, Folkestone

A man has been arrested following an alleged road rage attack in Folkestone.

The incident took place on Tuesday in Cherry Garden Avenue at around 2.45pm.

A man in his 30s was driving his green Ford Focus along the road when the driver of an Audi is alleged to have punched his windscreen at the traffic lights at the Shorncliffe Road junction.

The man in the Ford drove off and later noticed damage to his wheel arch as well as his windscreen.

A 28-year-old man from Dover was subsequently arrested in connection with the incident and is on bail pending further inquiries until Friday, April 3.

Kent Police is now appealing for witnesses to the incident to come forward.

PC Andy Faiers said: "We are treating this as an isolated incident but we would like to hear from anyone with information, in particular, anyone who may have seen either vehicle in the moments before the incident as well as the incident itself."
