Firefighters called to a home in Siskin Close, Hawkinge to tackle a kitchen fire

A blaze which damaged the kitchen of a house in Hawkinge is believed to have started in the oven.

Firefighters were called to a smoke-logged house in Siskin Close, Hawkinge at around 6.30pm last night after the fire broke out.

Crews wearing breathing apparatus used a hose reel to extinguish the fire which they believe started in an oven.

They used a positive pressure ventilation fan to clear smoke from the property. There were no reported injuries.
