Eve, four, heartbroken by trampoline theft

A little girl has been left heartbroken after thieves stole her trampoline while she slept.

Eve Vallis, four, used to love bouncing on the large trampoline and safety net at her home in Lennard Road, Folkestone.

It was not a small piece of kit and her mum Ursula Vallis reckons it would have taken three or four people to steal it. The theft occured some time over night on Monday, October 27.

Eve told her mum: “They are laughing aren’t they? But they are laughing quietly, and I’m crying mummy.”

She could also not understand how they managed to steal it from the garden while everyone slept.

Mrs Vallis said: “It was a large trampoline and it had sides and everything. It’s quite large and it would take quite a few people to lift it.

“What is sad is that it has obviously been stolen for a child, from a child.

“Also to see it someone would have had to have walked past our house and looked down at it.”

Police are investigating and a spokesman said: “It was a 1.5m trampoline, stolen between midnight and 8.30am last Tuesday morning, of October 28. If anyone saw anyone acting suspiciously or indeed carrying a trampoline in the middle of the night contact Kent Police on 01303 850055 or Crimstoppers on 0800 555111.”
