KENT Police have named a man whose body was discovered on a cliff face.

Howard Chambers, who was 41, had been living rough in a tent on the cliffs at Capel, Folkestone. He had been reported missing by a local charity, the Cyrenians, who help the homeless.

He was last seen by them on May 7. His next of kin have been informed and the coroner has been notified.

Police have said the cause of death is not thought to be suspicious.

Mr Chambers’ body was seen by a member of the public at the East Cliff. Coastguards recovered it on the afternoon of Wednesday, May 16. It is believed it had been there about a week.
