B&M discount store to open in Folkestone

A popular discount store is set to open in Folkestone this summer.

B&M has revealed it will be taking over the current Homebase building in Park Farm Retail Park, creating 50 jobs for "local people."

It is set to be a home and garden store.

The premises will undergo a refurbishment inside and out before opening its doors.

Homebase is set to leave the site in July and will open under a new name, Bunnings Warehouse, just down the road.

Australian firm Bunnings have bought the Homebase brand and will take it over in the next five years.

A spokesman from B&M said: “We’re feeling really positive about the creation of new jobs for local people and we hope customers are going to be delighted with their new store.

“We are all really excited to move into the site and transform it into the town’s very first B&M.”

B&M has not given a specific opening date.
