Arrests after Folkestone memorial park brawl

Two people have been arrested following a reported brawl involving two men and women inside a park.

Police were called to the Memorial Gardens in Sandgate Road, Folkestone, after a disturbance involving a pair of men and women.

Officers attended and later that night arrested a 26-year-old man and a 20-year-old woman.

They have since been released on bail pending further enquiries, while police are understood to be treating the incident as affray.

A 37-year-old man and a 43-year-old woman have also been interviewed under caution, police say.

A police spokesman said: “Detectives are continuing to carry out enquiries to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident, having already explored CCTV opportunities, spoken to witnesses and conducted house-to-house enquiries.

“They would now like to hear from anyone else who may have seen or heard what happened, or who may have captured the incident on their dashcams or doorbells.”

No serious injuries were sustained during the incident, which unfolded at about 9.10pm on Saturday, September 9.
