FAVERSHAM Town appointed a new manager two days before their Go Travel Kent League match away to Cray on Saturday.

Hughie Stinson was appointed to succeed John Roseman, who had parted company with the club the previous Monday.

Stinson, a former Sittingbourne manager, previously managed Faversham in the early 1990s before a disagreement over team selection with the then new owner Sal Aisawi.

Faversham's present chairman, Tony Hillier-Carter, said: "Hughie knows his football, and knows plenty of people in football."
