POLICE officers are appealing for information after a lamb was shot with an air rifle and killed.

The crime is thought to have occurred between 6pm on Friday, April 28, and 6pm on Saturday, April 29, at a farm in Conyer Road, Teynham, near Faversham.

The police's Faversham Rural Neighbourhood Team is investigating. Team member and former shepherd PC Darren Walshaw said: "This is not only a crime but an unacceptable act of cruelty.

"Myself and my team are keen to hear from anyone who may be able to help us find out who is responsible for causing this unnecessary suffering.”

The Faversham Rural Neighbourhood Team, including Teynham Police Community Support Officer Graham Mart are carrying out a full investigation.
