Catapult-wielding gang kills birds in Faversham stream attack

A duck is among two birds killed by a gang of yobs armed with a catapult.

Police are investigating after the creatures were shot dead near Westbrook Stream in Faversham.

Witnesses say one of the birds was a duck, while the other was a moorhen.

A police spokesman confirmed it was contacted shortly before 5.30pm on Sunday to a report of birds being injured by three young people.

“The group were alleged to have used a catapult to fatally injure the animals," he said.

“Officers attended and found two deceased birds.

“They carried out an area search and made several enquiries, but those responsible were not able to be located.”
