Whites in scramble for points

LEE SPILLER: missing out
LEE SPILLER: missing out

DOVER will go into their final two games of the season knowing that they require at least a minimum of four points to qualify for the play-offs for Conference South qualification.

They go into this week's final away league game of the season against Merthyr Tydfil, who themselves are battling for qualification.

Manager Richard Langley said: “Two wins may still get us in the top 13, but if has to be the play-offs, we will have to go down that route.”

A blow for Dover's chances will see tenacious midfielder Lee Spiller miss the final two games of the season (and a play off game if applicable) after running up 15 yellow cards.

He is likely to be replaced in midfield by either Darren Davies or Mark Patterson who have both shrugged off knee complaints.

One player who will be not be appearing for the Whites for the rest of the season is midfielder Billy Bone. He tore a hamstring coming on as a substitute against Havant, while youngster Lawrence Ball who has made a number of appearances this year has gone on a work placement to the USA.

It is hoped that he will return for the start of next season.
