Whites advertise nationally in search for new boss

DOVER Athletic fans must wait until early in June to discover the identity of the club's new manager.

Clive Walker's exit, after two seasons of failure to gain promotion, was widely predicted. But the former manager has apparently already been the subject of approaches from other clubs. Assistant manager Steve Nolan has also departed.

Dover have opted to advertise nationally for candidates for the manager's post rather than headhunt a new boss, as was the case when Walker replaced Steve Browne in January 2005. All applications must be in by May 30.

Chairman Jim Parmenter said: "We’ve got some parameters as to what we’re looking for but we’re not leaving anything ruled in or ruled out. You never know in these circumstances who may or may not apply.

"We have already had 10 inquiries, either directly or through a representative, and some are very high quality."
