Premier Division

Runaway leaders Dover Athletic had a day to forget at lowly Harrow Borough, losing 3-0 on a heavy pitch.

The Whites were a goal behind after just three minutes and midfielder Alan Pouton had to be substituted after picking up a knock on 23 minutes. Jerahl Hughes had to sit out the game completely after he was delayed taking the train to the game.

On the stroke of half time, Andy Hessenthaler’s side were 2-0 down and already thinking of the trip back home.

Their misery was rounded off in the second half, as the home side added a third and final goal on 75 minutes.

Despite the setback, Dover remain seven points clear at the top.

After a turbulent few days off the field, Maidstone United were unable to lift the mood on the pitch, losing 2-0 at home to bottom side Heybridge Swifts.

The men from Essex grabbed only their second win of the season at Bourne Park, thanks to two second half strikes.

The Stones drop to seventh on goal difference.

Tonbridge remain fifth, despite losing 2-1 at home to Wealdstone.

The Angels were one down after half an hour and slipped further behind on 54 minutes after a defensive mix up inside their own penalty area.

Leon Legg did claw the deficit back for Tommy Warilow’s men on the hour mark with a well-taken strike on the edge of the area, but the visitors held on for a win, lifting them to tenth.

Better news for Dartford who won 1-0 at Princes Park against Hendon to lift them further away from the relegation zone.

Tommy Osborne’s first ever goal in over 250 appearences sealed the win for The Darts, as his spot kick on 74 minutes proved the difference.

Osborne stepped up after Jamie Coyle’s penalty was ruled out by the referee and ordered to be retaken.

In a bad tempered game, both sides had a man sent off, Dartford’s James White getting his marching orders in the first half.

Dartford are now up to fifteenth on goal difference.

Margate held second placed Carshalton Athletic to a 2-2 draw at Hartsdown Park.

Terry Yorath’s side went in front through Wayne Wilson after 25 minutes, but found themselves 2-1 behind at the break.

The division’s leading goalscorer Richard Jolly grabbed a brace for the visitors on 40 and 45 minutes to leave the Gate stunned.

However, some concerted second half pressure was rewarded when Aaron Quain struck from 25 yards out to leave the keeper stranded.

Despite the point, Margate drop one place to nineteenth.

Three points behing them and third from bottom are Ramsgate, who lost 3-0 away to AFC Hornchurch.

Jim Ward’s men had the bulk of the possession in the first half but couldn’t capitalise. Paul Shave scoring twice in the second half for the home side, with Eliot Syles adding one in between.

Division One South

Cray Wanderers move up to third thanks to a 2-1 home win over Crowborough Athletic.

Cray were a goal behind after five minutes, but Colin Luckett’s penalty eight minutes later brought the scores level.

Just as it appeared Wanderers would have to settle for a point, Tommy Whitnell latched onto substitute Scott Kinch’s knock down to give them the lead with seven minutes to go.

Folkestone had to settle for point after a goalless draw at home to Fleet Town.

In a game that saw solid performances from both goalkeepers, Invicta’s James Dryden came closest to breaking the deadlock, as he hit the post on 75 minutes.

Neil Cugley’s side are now seventh on goal difference.

Sittingbourne grabbed three points on their travels, winning 2-1 at Whyteleafe.

The Brickies went 2-0 ahead thanks to goals in either half from Richard Brady and Tom Bradbrook, who got on the end of a good run and through ball from Hicham Akhazzan.

The home side’s constant pressure brought them a late consolation through Carlton Murray-Price, but Sittingbourne held out for the win that puts them eleventh, thanks in part to some solid saves from keeper Matt Read.

Ashford Town left it late to seal a 1-0 win at home to Eastbourne Town.

Bradley Spice’s header three minutes from time proved the only goal of the game. The substitute getting on the end of an inswinging corner from Charlie Glide that lifts The Nuts and Bolts to twelfth.

Whitstable Town move up two places to nineteenth, with a 2-0 win at home to Walton Casuals.

Second half strikes from Dave Corey and Ian Pullman sealed what was only the Oystermen’s second win on a Saturday this season.

Corey’s finish on the hour mark came after a shot hit the crossbar, while Pullman remained cool under pressure to slot home inside the box with twenty minutes to go.

Manager Marc Seager admits his side had chances to add even more goals: “to be honest 2-0 has flattered Walton, but I’m really pleased for the players because that’s two clean sheets in a row now and it will only build confidence in them.”

Division One North

Ricky Cable’s audacious 30 yard lob ensured Thamesmead Town took a point from their clash at home to Wingate & Finchley.

The home side went behind after 15 minutes, but some concerted second half pressure meant the game finished 1-1, giving Town their fourth straight league draw.

Boss Keith McMahon was delighted with the effort: “we pushed hard and created plenty of chances late on and Ricky’s taken his goal superbly.

“He got through on a one-on-one after some good work in the midfield and picked out a superb finish.”

He added: “I felt we deserved the point and we just keep on building from here.”

Chatham Town’s trip to Waltham Abbey was postponed, falling victim to the weather.
