Plenty of play-off permutations for Whites

DOVER Athletic go into their final Ryman League Division 1 match of the season knowing that three points will secure them a place in Monday's play-off semi-final.

However, they can still make the top six with a draw or even a defeat and it promises to be a nail-biting afternoon for Whites fans.

* For Dover to achieve fourth place, and the advantage of a home game in the play-off semi-finals, they must beat Whyteleafe and hope that Metropolitan Police, who currently occupy fourth, lose at home to champions Ramsgate.

If Whites win and Met Police draw, the Police will claim fourth place on goal difference.

* If Dover draw, they could be deprived of a play-off place by Kingstonian and Tooting & Mitcham if they both win, at Hastings Utd and Newport IOW respectively.

* If Dover lose, they will miss out if two out of Kingstonian, Tooting & Mitcham and Croydon Athletic, who are at home to Fleet Town, win their matches. If Kingstonian draw, and Tooting or Croydon win their game, Dover will again miss out.

The situation is more clear-cut for Tonbridge Angels, who currently sit in third place three points ahead of Met Police.

A point from their final game at bottom-of-the-table Corinthian Casuals will confirm that position and mean they play the team that finishes sixth at Longmead on Monday.
