Ricky Miller's future at Dover still uncertain as boss Chris Kinnear admits he has no idea what will happen in January

Dover boss Chris Kinnear says he hasn’t got a clue whether Ricky Miller will leave in the January transfer window.

Miller has been linked with a move but Kinnear revealed Whites are yet to receive an offer from a Football League club for their 28-goal striker.

Either way, Kinnear is adamant they are under no pressure to sell. He said: “Who knows what will happen? I haven’t got a clue. No one has made an offer in the league for him.

“Do we sell him? We don’t know. Until we get an offer, it’s irrelevant, really.

“We’re not trying to get cash for him, it’s not that, we want to do well in the league.
“We’re under no pressure to get rid of him. I’ve spoken to the chairman but if someone out there will help with his ambition to play at a decent club, that’s fair enough but it will have to suit both parties – us and him.

“At the moment, we’re talking about something that might never happen.”
Miller, who is out of contract in the summer, is in the form of his life at Dover as Kinnear and his management team have found a way to get the best of him.

Kinnear added: “That’s what we do. We try and improve players and that’s the type of player we’ve got.

“He’s not had much of a career. He was at Luton, hadn’t played, he came to us, then went back and only played a few games and he found it difficult.

“Early on in the season he wasn’t in the side for a little while. We left him out but now he’s back in, he’s scoring goals and that’s all you want from your forwards.

“We’ll always play attacking football. Our philosophy is to create as many chances as we can and try and win games.”

Dover, who drew 1-1 at home to Maidstone on Boxing Day, travel to the County Town for the return fixture on New Year’s Day. The game, which kicks-off at 6pm, will be shown live on BT Sport.
