DOVER Athletic's head coach Richard Langley is hoping the errors that are peppering his side's performances at present can be eradicated as soon as possible.

Tuesday's 2-1 home reversal to Worthing was Whites' third consecutive defeat, but at least the players' commitment and performance was a great deal better than it had been in Saturday's woeful 5-2 defeat at Cheshunt.

"We have conceded 10 goals in four games and all of the goals could have been prevented," said Langley. "If this does not change it is going to be a long hard season."

The Bank Holiday weekend gives Whites an immediate chance to bounce back with two games in three days and some of Dover's most experienced players could be ready to return.

Saturday's home game against unbeaten Braintree, managed by the experienced George Borg and including non-league legend Gary Abbott in attack, should see a welcome return in goal for Paul Hyde after his finger injury.

Dean Readings, who completed 20 minutes as a substitute against Worthing, could also start. But key striker Craig Wilkins, who was seeing a back specialist this week, will not be risked.

Langley is hoping that Ricky Spiller, who has been suffering with his wisdom teeth, and Shaun Welford will also be able to return to the squad.

On Bank Holiday Monday, Whites face a tough trip to Hendon, who have earned nine points from their opening four games.
