Chris Kinnear claimed Dover deserve another crack at Cambridge at Crabble after Saturday's 1-1 FA Cup First Round draw at the Cambs Glass Stadium.

Ricky Miller struck eight minutes from time to ensure the National League side will entertain the League 2 strugglers in the return in 10 days time and boss Kinnear admitted while Whites were not at their best, they were worth a replay.

He said: "I don't think we were really great but I think we deserved a draw. We're looking forward to getting them down to our place now.

"We came here with the right attitude of coming here to try and beat them, not just sit back and let them attack us. Both sides were trying to play attacking football.

"We're happy. You go away in any competitions and if you don't lose you've got a chance. We've got a chance in 10 days time."

United went ahead seven minutes before the break when Piero Mingoia tapped home after Mitch Walker had failed to hold onto a low drive from Luke Berry, though Kinnear revealed: "I thought Mitch had it but obviously it squeezes out... they were sharp onto it, no complaints really.

"Other than that I think they probably had two chances and their keeper pulled off a couple of saves.

"They'd done their homework on us. Their manager had been to see us last Tuesday against Bromley when we did very well. They didn't take us lightly and we didn't take them lightly either. It was a close game.

"(The replay) will be a different game but both sides want to push on and get a result.

"We keep pushing forward which is probably why we either win games or lose. I think that was only our second draw of the season. You've got to go and try to win games but obviously the other side have something to say about that too

"We're looking to score loads of goals, we're playing with three forwards and trying to get it forward. They played with a bit of spirit as well and looking to get away from their league form and get on another Cup run but we have another crack at them in 10 days time."

Dover were backed on a chilly afternoon in the Fens by a band of more than 500 vocal fans and Kinnear claimed: "The supporters were great, at times you could hear them above (the 2,000+ home) supporters.

"They are used to having a good sing (after the past four years). If they keep on behind us then hopefully we can keep on achieving."
