Ross Lafayette gives us somethiing different says Dover Athletic manager Chris Kinnear

Dover manager Chris Kinnear admitted he was pleased to see Dover get their first win in the 2-0 victory against Vanarama National League new-boys North Ferriby.

Kinnear said: " I thought we played really well and all you can do is create loads and loads of chances with (26 shots in the game), and I don't know why we didn't score more in the game.

"Well I do, because I thought their goalkeeper (Rory Watson) was outstanding, and it was one of the best displays I have ever seen."

Kinnear added: "It was good to see Moses Emmanuel and Ross Lafayette both score."

"Ross has come in this week and he gives us something different, We have got a lot of strikers at the club now - with the likes of Tyrone Marsh, Matt Pinnock and young Ira Jackson Junior, but he gives us something we haven't got which is height."

Kinnear ended the game by giving opposite number Steve Housham a consoling pat on the shoulder.

He explained "I just said to him that we didn't win a game early on in our first season in the Conference and finished eighth.

"There is still room for sentiment in football, I met them before the game and they all seem good people."
