Dover v Dartford

Andy Hessenthaler admits he may have to start Saturday's Ryman League Premier Division Kent derby at home to his former club, Dartford.

The Dover player-boss has selection problems in midfield with John Keister suffering from a back spasm while Jon Wallis picked up a hamstring injury during Tuesday's 2-0 home win over Harlow.

Hessenthaler admitted: “I may have to play myself at Dartford. I haven’t got a problem with that.”

David Wilkinson could continue in goal having replaced John Whitehouse for the Harlow game.

Hessenthaler explained: “David didn’t have a lot to do but he made two good saves.

“John was devastated to miss out but you sometimes need a shake-up in the squad. It’s good for competition.”

Shaun Welford looks set to continue up front alongside Giuliano Grazioli, who scored his first goal for the club against Harlow.

Dartford manager Tony Burman inisisted that form will count for little in the derby. as they bid to Dover’s first home league defeat of the season.

Burman said: “Form and positions go out of the window. We know we’ve got a tough game and do our best to hopefully come away with the points."

The Darts boss is hoping a trio of players will be fit to face Dover. Adam Flanagan, John Guest and Jamie Day were all missing against Hendon with hamstring injuries. Striker Rob Haworth should also return after being unavailable.
