Midfielder Jack Paxman joins Dover Athletic on loan from National League South rivals Ebbsfleet United

Dover boss Mitch Brundle has made his first signing since permanently taking charge - and it’s a player who has joined on loan from Ebbsfleet.

Midfielder Jack Paxman links up with Whites on an initial 28-day loan.

The 28-year-old has appeared five times in all competitions for Dennis Kutrieb’s title-chasing Ebbsfleet side this season and heads to Crabble ahead of Dover’s trip to Hemel in National League South this Saturday.

Paxman left Maidstone in 2019 for Billericay after four successful years, having been among the scorers in the penalty shoot-out which saw the Stones promoted to the National League in 2016.

Ebbsfleet signed Paxman in 2020 and he had only recently returned from a loan stint with Braintree.

In a statement, Dover, beaten on Tuesday 4-0 at Tonbridge, added: “There is a possibility of more incomings over the next couple of days, as well as players moving in the other direction.”

Confusingly, Whites full-back Alfie Paxman has a twin brother called Jack Paxman - but he plays for Isthmian South East leaders Ramsgate and is not his new team-mate!

Ebbsfleet presently top National League South while Dover are 16th, eight points clear of the relegation zone but having played at least two more games than all of their rivals.
