FORMER Dover Athletic boss Steve Browne has revealed that he was not aware of his sacking until he found out about it on the radio.

Browne was dismissed following Saturday's 2-1 defeat at home to Kingstonian, which sent Whites to the foot of the Ryman Premier Division.

Dover have endured a turbulent time off the pitch in recent weeks, with much speculation surrounding the club's financial future, but Browne paid the price for a poor run of just one win in 13 matches on the pitch.

New chairman Jim Parmenter acted swiftly after Saturday's defeat to appoint Clive Walker, who was sacked by Dover 15 months ago, in a bid to improve the club's fortunes.
