A woman has been re-bailed after being accused of the alleged theft of a five figure sum from Dover Athletic's accounts.

A statement released on Tuesday by the club said that during a routine internal accountancy audit at the Crabble stadium, it became apparent that the money was missing.

Her bail has been extended until Thursday, December 3.

Chairman Jim Parmenter said: "This is heart breaking for everyone involved at the club, we’ve all worked so hard to bring this club back from the brink and put it on a stable footing.

"While these events will not put the club in any form of financial difficulty, it is a significant sum of money and is bound to have an impact."
