A seven-seater green Renault Scenic went up in flames in the Townwall Street car park last night.

One fire crew was called at 10.07pm to tackle the flames using a high pressure hose reel.

A firefighter at the Dover fire station confirmed that the car was "severely damaged."

They left the scene at 10.42pm.

A Kent Fire and Rescue spokeswoman said: "The cause of the fire has been put back as not known.

"The police were also aware of it."
