Pier and beach concerns raised at port meeting

A new pier will be provided as part of plans for a second ferry terminal at Dover’s Western Docks.

Port bosses gave assurances a new pier would be provided, the Admiralty Pier would be improved, and shingle could be brought in to form extra areas of beach.

District council chief executive Nadeem Aziz described the plans as a “once in a lifetime, or once in several centuries” opportunity for investment and regeneration.
