Operation stack implemented on A20 through Dover to minimise traffic chaos

Operation stack has been implemented in a bid to gain control of the traffic chaos in Dover caused by high winds.

Stack came into place last night, and has freed up one lane of the A20 and allowing residents to use Townwall Street without difficulty.

But this morning, more of the same ferry delays have been reported through Twitter, ongoing for the third day.

The Port of Dover said: "We advise customers to allow extra travel time to the port as forecast weather conditions may mean delays later today."

Commuters travelling from Dover Priory have also been affected by delays this morning after a tree fell on the tracks.

Delays stretched past 7am when the tree was removed.
