DOVER and Deal MP Gwyn Prosser says he is ashamed of the way the government treated a Ghanian woman who has died from cancer after being deported from her hospital bed.

Ama Sumani was receiving treatment for cancer in a hospital in Cardiff when the Government decided she should be deported back to Ghana.

Mr Prosser said: "Labour has put in place some pretty bold measures to control our borders and enforce our immigration laws over the last 10 years but we've always been proud to balance firmness with fairness.

"Ama Sumani was not treated fairly. The forced removal of a woman dying of cancer lacks any human compassion and I am ashamed that a Labour government has allowed such a thing to happen."
