A 43-year-old man was flown to hospital after falling down cliffs near Dover.

A Kent Air Ambulance crew was called to the scene after the man suffered fractures when he landed on the foreshore near Samphire Hoe, between Dover and Folkestone.

It is an area which is difficult to access by a road ambulance.

The helicopter landed on the beach on Sunday morning and the man was picked up and flown to Ashford's William Harvey Hospital for treatment.

No other details about the man have been released and enquiries are being made to establish how he fell.
